    Santa's well known around Wodonga

For many years Lions Santa's were seen along rooftops along the main streets of Wodonga. Now we sell them to businesses and homes. They raise funds towards helping local charities provide support over the Christmas period.
The club members donate their own time to making and painting the Santa's.

    Camp LEO 2019

Over the weekend of 4th to 6th October 2019, 12 LEOS from Cohuna and Tungamah travelled with 6 Lions leaders to Four Post Camp just outside Deniliquin. No not for the Ute Muster but to enjoy some time as a group, enjoying quality time together, swimming, walking, volleyball and lots more. Most importantly they took part in the "LEO Master Chef Challenge". DG Omen can and spent some quality time with the LEOS, was one of the Master Chef judges, along with LEO Liaison Annette and guest speaker Leeza Webb. Wouldn't want their job, four really great sweets were made by the LEOS with some input form their Lion support staff.
Leeza is a "Youth Drug and Alcohol Councillor" and gave the group some really good advice on looking after themselves at parties and looking after their mates.
All in all, a fantastic weekend. Hopefully next year, we will have ALL V6 LEO Clubs involved.

    Lap the Map for Diabetes

Start using the local template now for your own area.

Could each club participating, please fill in the Participating club details document, and return to me by Monday 8th October - to ccathro@arel.com.au

Also, for your reference, a copy Lions Media Release - National, and what will be on the MD website

Note: the National Facebook Page has been set up. https://www.facebook.com/lionslapthemap

There has been some mention from various areas of getting local recipients of Lions Hearing Dogs involved in support of this project. There has been discussion at MD level with Australian Lions Hearing Dogs CEO and Chairperson, and they are very keen to be involved. Most clubs should know if they have anyone in their area who is a recipient.

If anyone has trouble opening these files, or has any other queries, please contact me ASAP

It is still not too late for clubs to decide to participate in some way, and Some clubs may have other activities scheduled around that time and might be too difficult to hold the event on that date, however it should not be a problem if they conduct some event a week or so earlier, and adjust any publicity accordingly.

If clubs think that they couldn't get sufficient participants in their area to make it viable, they might consider combining with a nearby club.

Remember - the event only has to be as big as each individual club wants to make it.

    Regards
